AT THE FOREFRONT OF VARIETAL INNOVATIONS

To bring the best product on the table means studying in depth every single piece that together makes up all business processes. The company has been collaborating for years with leading genetic companies to develop new varieties and products, capable of adapting to climate, technology and market changes.

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY AND GREEN POLICIES

Only with the best technologies and resources can a product become Fruo

High-tech greenhouses

Production takes place in new and innovative technological greenhouses. Special computers automatically manage the climate inside the greenhouse. Heating and antifreeze systems allow cultivation in winter, when it would normally be impossible, reducing the risks due to sudden drops in temperatures. The plants are grown soilless with owned technology, managed by computerized systems that daily acquire data from the crop and the greenhouse. Mathematical models are used to maximize the efficiency of the use of resources and to have continuous and high quality productions. New models of greenhouses allow the almost hermetic closure of the greenhouse, in order to avoid the entry of parasites and thus reduce the use of pesticides.

Recycling water and used plastics

The company maximizes every day the use of resources, in order to not compromise them for future generations. Three lakes and a complex water recovery system allow the sustainable use of water. The plastics used for greenhouse roofing are exploited for as long as possible and recycled at the end of the cycle, according to environmental regulations, to ensure the best environmental sustainability.

Useful and native insects

The company has been using integrated pest control since 1994. The health of the agro-ecosystem, even within the greenhouse, is essential to ensure a healthy product and environment. The use of beneficial insects and good agricultural practices have made it possible to drastically reduce the use of pesticides, while improving the quality of products and the environment. Special borders outside the greenhouses, created with particular plants, allows the survival of many native beneficial insects and local pollinators, which help in the protection of crops and improve the company's agroecosystem.
